About Us

Glossop Old Band are a local brass band based in Glossop, Derbyshire, and are believed to have been originally formed around 1830.

On Saturday 16th September 2017, after months of hard work under the direction of our Musical Director Duncan Beckley, Glossop Old Band came second in the 2nd Section National Finals. 2018 sees us promoted to the 1st Section.

For anyone wishing to come along and play for the band, rehearsals are on Tuesday evenings 8.00-10.00pm.

Over the last 2 years the band have re-established links with the local community, including the return of Bandroom Sunday concerts, however these are now afternoons to welcome both young and old.

We are always looking for support, whether playing or non-playing. Please explore the website and facebook page to find out ways to get involved, including our "Friends of Glossop Old Band" scheme. Or simply contact us.

We also have a Learner Band, who rehearse on Thursday 6.30-8.00pm. Please contact Marcus Jones on 07973852051 for more details.
