| Highs and Lows at Glossop Old BandFollowing on from the high of their recent success of being placed as the highest overall Local Band at the Whit Friday marches, Glossop Old Band are sadly losing 3 of their young talented musicians to Higher Education. Sam Richardson (percussion) will be leaving the band to attend The University of Huddersfield studying Music, Anthony Newington (cornet) will be attending the University of Southampton to study Aeronautics and Astronautics and Adam Corbridge (cornet) will be at Lancaster University studying Physical Geography! All 3 players will be missed by the whole band and the last concert before the summer break will be in Glossop Bandroom on Sunday 16th July where a concert with an American theme is planned to help raise money for local Scouts to attend the 22nd World Scout Jamboree. Tickets for the concert are £6 each or Tickets £6 each, Families £20 (2 adults, 2 children) and includes a “Meat and Potato Pie”. Doors open 7.15pm and tickets are available from Julie Fawley on 07961 461855. Fancy dress optional!
